Mario sucks

I prefer sonic
However
Mario isnt a bad gaming character
He does do physical fighting in Super Smash bros brawl and In galaxy (spin stars thing)
And if he is that bad then how come 50 Million people brought the original then?
I do like sonic more but I dont think mario is that bad

i admit that his tennis game is good but his not even in it for most of it and the people that probably bought are little kids

Mario is just the same thing over and over again,
Super mario 64
Mario tennis
mario soccer
mario golf
paper mario
mario kart
Super mario sunshine
Mario baseball
mario party 1-8
Super mario bros wii

And alot of others, mario has over 150 titles sonic has like 20, thats why mario is more popular, but sonic is differnt, mario is running out of ideas, super mario 64 and mario sunshine are the only good games the rest are crap games

i have mario party 4 and it was the worst game i ever played but its not as shoot as sims 2

Mario DOES have a lot of sequels, but that's because the originals were THAT good.

Just because one game sucked dosent mean he always sucks
Yes he has had some crappy spin offs but the Main games are pretty much the best
But if you hate him welll maybe its your style of gameplay

I didn't think Mario Party 4 was that bad (admittably, the series went slightly down hill from there, but it wasn't AWFUL).

i thought mario party 4 was horrible and jimbster is right about the other reason i dont like mario cuz he doesnt have a gun or cuz he hasnt used his fists in his recently popular games

Mario is the same thing over again, formulaicly speaking (It's probably not a real word, let's run with it)
Mario's Defining Formula: Hero Saves Princess - Right?
Sonic's Defining Formula: Hero Saves World - Right?

Then..They're both as repetitive as each other - Right?
Wrong!! (And shut up)

Mario is the same formula, but it's varied, Super Mario 64 is a perfect example - You save the princess..By going through awesomely laid out 3D worlds within a world, be it a snowy mountaintop where you slid down a massive slide, or a basement that reminds me why I'm freaked out about the goddamn sea
Another is Super Mario World - You save the princess by going through over one hundred colourful platforming worlds to jaunty tunes and power ups, Yoshi is awesome too, and with varying paths and secrets then, it was and still is, awesome

Sonic's transition to 3D on the other hand was - Save the world, with less speed, more characters that you don't/shouldn't care about and voice acting less bearable than nails on a chalkboard (Tails!!) And the levels that aren't Sonic felt like filler to the main character's
Meanwhile, anything after Sonic 3 & Knuckles (I'm not getting into technicalities of release dates, don't call me out on this) was just Sonic & Gimmicks (Sonic Rush was good though, I liked it)

My point is, Mario and Sonic are both repetitive games, there's only so much you can do with 'Hero Saves X' but while SEGA tried to mix it up by adding a bunch of bells and whistles, Nintendo used what they had, and tried it in different ways, and therefore being more successful and fun

Also: How are Mario Kart, Super Mario 64 and Mario Party the same to be repeats of each other? And what about Paper Mario for that matter? It's as far from the series as you can get with it still being excellent
